About Us

Johnathan Turner started his interest in joinery when he was 14 helping the local furniture restorer on Saturdays, sparking an interest in all aspects of furniture design and construction. He went onto to start a three year high level course in Furniture Cabinet Making at Hastings College as well as joining an apprenticeship scheme working for Peter Billing Furniture, assisting him in making bespoke furniture for a selection of London design companies.

Johnathan was able to hone his craft to a very high standard and went onto work for many companies developing a large skill base in all aspects of joinery and furniture cabinet making.

In 2010 Johnathan made the decision to move to France to pursue his dream of opening up his own workshop in rural France, making bespoke kitchens and furniture whilst enjoying the beautiful countryside and all that can be offered from this great country.

In the last few years being in France he have seen the company grow from strength to strength. He has completed some amazing projects and now has a client list that would make any company proud.

Testimonials

"...The standout through all this work was an expat from England, Johnathan Turner who not only installed the kitchen cabinets on a floor that's more uneven than a run down golf course, he was of incredible help with other wood working needs as well. He replicated 100 year old baseboards, helped us swap out two sets of doors of different sizes and even built an interesting wardrobe for Victoria from scratch. If you need a wood worker, he is the one."

"We really love our handmade kitchen and so do our friends and family. I especially like the seating area and table made from the oak worktops. I also asked John if he could make a small shelf above the seating panelling to put a speaker and if he could hide the electric cable, behind the panelling. The seating also doubles up as storage as the 2 oak benches lift up, great for storing all our dogs food and cleaning stuff. We would highly recommend My Tailor Made Kitchen."
