Storage solutions! - Part 2

Updated: Jul 3, 2023

  • Ideas to consider when designing your New Kitchen.

Gosh, it's been a while! We've been excessively busy at MTMK in the last couple of months (more about that on a future post), so without any further adoo (does anyone still say that anymore?), and as promised, here are some important built-in storage options to consider when designing your dream kitchen to help you keep your kitchen organised and efficient: Cupboards and Drawers: Cupboards and Drawer cabinets are or course the most popular type of built-in kitchen storage. They can come in many different styles, materials, and sizes, so you can choose the perfect cabinet combination for your kitchen. Cabinets can also be customised to fit your specific needs. For example, you can add shelves, drawers, and even pull-out baskets to your cabinets for maximum storage. Drawers can include deep drawers, narrow drawers, internal drawer organisers, and even drawers within drawers! Pantry: A pantry is a must-have for any kitchen. It is a dedicated storage space for food items, such as canned goods, cereal, baking supplies, tall bottles... Pantries can be built into the kitchen or added as a freestanding unit, which is perfect for anyone who has a passion for antiques: you can restore and re-purpose that beautiful linen cupboard from the 1900s and it'll make a wonderful statement piece in your kitchen. If you'd like something more custom-made, pantries can come in all different sizes and configurations, including walk-in pantries and corner pantries. Lazy Susan: A Lazy Susan or Carousel is a rotating tray that is typically installed in a corner cabinet. It allows you to easily access items that would otherwise be difficult to reach. Lazy Susans come in many different sizes and materials, and they can be a great addition to any kitchen. Pull-out shelving and baskets: Pull-out storage is a great way to maximise the storage space in your cabinets. They allow you to easily access items in the back of the cabinet without having to dig around. Pull-out storage can be installed in both upper and lower cabinets, and they come all sorts of different sizes. Wine rack: If you're a wine lover (since we're in France, I believe it may be the law??!), a built-in wine rack can be a great addition to your kitchen. Wine racks come in many different styles and materials, from traditional wood racks to modern metal racks. They can be installed on the wall or built into a cabinet. Appliance garage: An appliance garage is a cabinet that is specifically designed to store small appliances, such as a toaster, blender or the ever-increasingly popular coffee/tea station. It keeps these items out of sight but easily accessible when you need them. Ideal for the minimalist and clutter free worktop of all of our dreams! In conclusion, there are so many built-in kitchen storage options available to help you keep your kitchen organised and efficient. Take the time to consider your needs and preferences, and then choose the options that will work best for you.
